Vladimir Tretchikoff 

...one of the most commercially success artists of all time.

It's inspiring when such an amazing artist pays homage to South Africa. 

Born in Petropavl, Kazakhstan in 1913 Tretchikoff was a self-taught artist who painted realistic figures, portraits, still life and animals. He passed away at the age of 92 in 2006 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Although beautiful, Tretchikoff's work is seen as the epitome of kitsch by art critics.

Today we appreciate his most famous work, "The Green Lady"; One of the best selling art prints of the twentieth century.
